streusel topped blueberry muffins~the ultimate breakfast muffin

I got a bit annoyed at my own site right before I made these. I decided to search and see if I had posted them before…. and typed in “blueberry” in the search bar and I got the reply “nothing found”.

Whaaaat?

I know I made blueberry rolls, baby blueberry pies, and blueberry muffins.

But, the only way to find them was by a major search engine term search. Annoying. But, I think I fixed the issue. For blueberries, at least. 😉

I also have lots of step by step pictures for y’all. And maybe a story, too…. For the record, I didn’t go pick these blueberries. We don’t have them growing around here. Although our Home Depot sells some that suppository do well in this state, I’m not buying it. (literally, haha)

I bought these at my local produce stand. I seldom buy my produce at grocery stores. Mainly because produce stands are MUCH cheaper, and it’s different on every visit. I once found some dragon fruit there. Pretty cool, because I thought that was always a “made up” flavor, like “blue raspberry” since when is raspberry flavor always blue?

Blueberries are blue and raspberries are red. Get with the program flavor-color-people.

These make your house smell like doughnuts. Except without the grease. Which is good, because my house has smelled like onions and bacon for days. But, hey that’s better than stinky dog and smelly feet.

Some of you may know how I started the week with the death of my beloved bird, and I have been doing a lot of keeping busy and cooking to cope. Doing dishes is hard though, that’s when I miss her most. She and I used to whistle at each other there. On the bright side, we are going to start saving for a new family member- and we are looking into other parrot species. Sometimes, research and learning new information can be helpful to keep the mind occupied as well. Leaning toward Eclectus and Quakers right now. Feel free to add any input if you’re a bird person.

I’m a total bird person, and dog person, and fish person, reptile person, and people person. I like living thongs, I guess. 😉
