These are a new staple in our house. I’m starting to put them on almost every savory food I eat… especially sandwiches. But, they’re also good right from the jar… just keep some breath mints handy…
Now, before you think there’s any cooking involved… nope there’s none. Nada. Zip.
How’s that sound on a hot summer day?
Start with an onion. And a box of tissues. You’re gonna cry like you watched “Old Yeller”
Hey, wanna know an onion slicing tip? One for slice, two for dice. See those lines in the onion? That’s where you cut for slices. Once you cut those turn them and cut once more for dices. Got it? Good. 🙂
Pack your slices into a clean mason jar…
Now, add the specified “pickling ingredients” in this case, it was sugar, vinegar, water, salt, spices and crushed red pepper.
Shake it up and place it in the fridge 24 hours.
Now: add them to your burgers, your hot dogs, your grilled cheese, your club sandwiches, your cheese and crackers, your soups, your salads…..
