Y’all… these are like giant cheese crackers that rhyme with “its”. I think you know what I mean. But: these are better… because they are homemade, big and have a tiny hint of sweet that makes you literally crave them. Featuring Millers Banana Pepper sauce, and also part of the recipe challenge they invited me to take a part in. (Wish me luck!)
This recipe is a twist on the classic Kentucky FirecrackersÂ
First off: Line a tray with good ol’ saltines. I used whole grain ones.
This here is the secret weapon, because you’re going to brush the crackers with a mixture of melted butter and Miller’s Banana Pepper sauce.
Sprinkle with crumbled feta , and some all purpose seasoning.
Bake & serve. I have a fondness for the extra crispy type crackers, that’s why I’ve got some extra toasty ones.
You can make a trio of these crackers for game day, so nobody gets left out.
Cheesy Fire crackers
Ingredients
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 2 tbs butter, melted
- 5 tbsp Millers Banana Pepper sauce, any variety
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375FLine a 9x13" pan with parchment paper
- Line parchment lined pan with saltine crackers
- In a bowl, melt butter
- Add seasonings and sauce
- Using a pastry brush, brush mixture onto each cracker
- Sprinkle cheese evenly on crackers
- Bake 7-10 minutes
- Remove promptly and place on baking grid to cool
