I spent yesterday making a few nibbles. I don’t know why, I don’t have an upcoming party.Unless we can count the daily “tea poddy” my daughter and I have… I just got in a nibble making mood. It’s been nice to have some nibbles ready for times when I am too lazy busy to make myself lunch.
I also have been doing a lot of research. Birds and food.
One thing I found was Russian eggs. Don’t google it. It’s quite disappointing if you do.
Go with this version:
yes, it’s basically fancy deviled eggs.
On top of a bed of tiny potatoes, peas and carrots.
The sauce is 1c mayonnaise, 1tsp mustard powder, 1 tsp worchestire, salt, pepper…
This is one of those recipes where it’s so basic- but the presentation changes it.
I think it’s called Russian because it’s topped with caviar. I was plum out of Beluga Caviar…
so I used my masago.
When I got my masago out, I wanted sushi…
Kind of like when you give a pig a pancake…that’s a children’s book- that goes around and around
When you give a pig a pancake, she’ll want some maple syrup, then she’ll get sticky, then she’ll need a bath, then she’ll want bubbles…then she’ll want a duck….it goes on… it’s adorable.
So I was the pig…because then I wanted sushi.
… I won’t lie- I also wanted to use my new $1 dish I got at Outlet World. I need to go there today. They had a girraffe print plate that was screaming for a cinnamon roll to go on it. That’s what crazy mommies do when they look at dishes. They hear them.
Let’s examine this picture some more:
I was lucky to get some very fresh salmon and snapper. The snapper we caught, The salmon-no. We live in Florida.
I have plans with the salmon today. Something other than nibbles or sushi. You will like it.
My neighbor gave me some starfruit a few weeks ago…mmm starfruit jam. I need to share that. That’s another good nibble. I also want to take a moment to thank you for all the votes- I have no idea how many I got…nobody except Foodbuzz knows, one person with the most votes will automatically advance….so that would be nice. I find out at 3pm who advances. Wish me luck! 🙂 Either way… I am still cooking.
