I’m sure a lot of you have been to restaurants where bread is served along with olive oil and herbs for dipping, instead of butter. Not only is this heart- healthy but it’s also a nice change from attempting to spread cold butter on soft bread. Which, usually results in a cold mound smooshed into a once fluffy bread.
I get impatient with cold butter at times, I must admit.
That’s why I love bread dipping…
For this bread dipping, I samples Nudo Italian olive oils, exquisite fine extra virgin olive oils that have been infused with the flavors of lemon, basil and roasted garlic.
I am absolutely crazy about these oils… the superior packaging ensures fresh oil, and the handy pop up pour spout makes it easy to drizzle, measure and pour. Without those messy sticky drips….
You get what you pay for with olive oil, and this is well worth every penny.
As far as the flavors:
The roasted garlic, by far has been the crowd favorite. and I have been using it in almost everything from tossing pasta to seasoning my black beans. It goes way beyond bread dipping. The possibilities are limitless.
The basil was a second choice, with rich pungent basil surrounding the buttery oil, this can make for some amazing grilled mozzarella and tomato sandwiches.
The lemon infused oil with it’s refreshing clean finish is perfect for salad dressings and seafood dishes, and… adding it to hummus? AH-MAZE-ING!
If you’d like to have a bottle of the roasted garlic ( a $17 value!) for yourself, simply comment at the end of this post your answer to the following question:
“What’s your favorite Italian dish?”
Winner will be chosen at random by one of my kids Jan 7th, 2015
Good Luck!
