homemade tortellini part one

I have been wanting to make some homemade tortellini for a while now.. and I started it yesterday. I would have finished it, but we ran out of gas, which meant I had to stay at home to wait for the gas man, so he could light the pilot light. If that’s my “big issue” of the day… well- life is good.

So, I wanted to share with y’all the entire process- but that’s not going to happen, instead- we’re going to make pasta dough. Pasta dough is so easy to make, and can I just tell you how much heartier and yummier it is? Oh yes- it is.

And, such simple ingredients.

Flour, eggs, salt, and a dash of olive oil.

If you have a mixer, there is almost zero effort. Wait… almost zero. Is that proper? Sometimes I wish I had my high school English teacher around.

About 4 minutes later, a nice dough ball is formed.

Then, you divide it into four sections, flatten into circles, wrap in plastic and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Or, in my case; overnight. Today I’m going to roll it out and fill it and shape it. It’s going to be a spinach and cheese filling. Or maybe plain cheese. I’m still deciding.

I’m also still deciding camp food, what color to paint my toes, and what to wear today. I’m in my jammies now. I thought you’d like to know that.

Useless information is fun, sometimes.

Oh! Have you seen the You Tube video with the guy that put the McDonald’s food into jars to see how long it took to break down? I saw that today. Ewww.

I don’t have a link for it, I’m sorry. And, I’m too lazy to find it and share it. I’d rather share something more appetizing.

I hope you understand. 🙂
