comfort food~ it’s like a hug in food form
When I was about 17, I found this awesome comfort food cookbook at a bookstore; this was way before the days of the Internet- and debit cards, and I had no cash to buy the book…. so I tried my best to remember it so that I could buy it next time. I was 17. Of course I forgot all the important stuff, like the author or publisher. I did however, remember that is had awesome photos and recipes. Come to think of it, I bet nowadays the photos wouldn’t be that impressive- have you ever noticed that food photos from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s don’t look as good as they do today? I have a collection hoarding issue with vintage cookbooks. Especially 1950’s ones.
I need to make a post about my favorites.
Did you know that the Pillsbury bake off used to be called the Grand National?
There’s a little tidbit.
Speaking of tidbits, here is a collection of my most loved comfort food recipes…
Classic macaroni and cheese, baked and topped with buttery bread crumbs.
Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside waffles.
herb roasted chicken and red potatoes…
the best ever chocolate chip cookies
spaghetti and meatballs…. with a glass of red wine, of course.
These are a few of my personal favorite comfort food dishes… what are yours?
