Am I wrong to call it redneck food? Because I am certain a redneck mama must have invented it. Along with Velveeta fudge. Never heard of that? Neither had I until I read “The Cracker Cookbook”. A “cracker” is what they call a native Floridian, although the term is also synonymous with redneck, too.
Hmmm…. I feel too tropical to be a redneck cracker. Maybe it’s the inland folk.
Back to beer can chicken. Which, is a great alternative to turkey. Hey…. you know the giant cans of beer? I wonder…..would that work for a turkey? Heck, I may try that this year. What do y’all think?
By the way…I will have my traditional turkey day dishes this week.
Back to beer can chicken bird.
The beer “steams” the chicken so it’s super moist.
I like love Budweiser.
Did you know beer makes you smarter?
It made Bud wiser.
Hahahahaha. (I know…)
Now, I plop in 2 tbs of butter, 1tsp garlic, 1 tsp brown sugar and some pepper.
Place your bird over the can.
Rub your bird down with some melted butter, and some seasoning. I usually do a mixture of salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic. This time I didn’t though….
Roast it in the oven at 350 for an hour.
Now, I have to tell you why I haven’t been posting that much.
I entered another contest and have been really working on that.
IF I end up a finalist I (yet again) will be begging for votes. Just for ten days, though.
IF I win the grand prize… I will be able to afford to give-away a kick a** gift as a thank-you.
See…. there’s something in it for y’all.
I will keep you posted.
I also am working on a little weekly “you-tube” channel segment too.
I may kick it off this week. Woo-hoo to that!
