I hope each and every one of you had an awesome holiday. Mine was super nice- and surprising too…
Why?
My hubby kept asking me for a wish list…
So, I made one.
He left it at home everyday.
But….
He memorized it.
Now, that’s love.
And, yes- those of you that follow me know that I found one gift by accident. Well, actually two gifts. Whoops.
I need to not clean so thoroughly during the holidays….
I received one of the gifts. An Android phone. (insert HUGE grin)
The second….well…. our anniversary is in a few days…hmmm. I just saw a box, so I’m not real sure what it is….
Now: highlights from the holidays!
Okay, my kid has gone from carrying around wax rings, candles, nail polish, and her current favorite is soap. She would much rather hug a candle than a teddy bear. Hmmm, I’d rather hug a Kitchen Aid than a barbie…so maybe she’s not that weird. Anyway, I got this candle for her during her candle phase… she hugged it all morning…
We had to tell her to put it down so she could open her gifts…
This was the surprise outside. Look at those faces! Priceless.
Now, as for food…
I made a cherry danish bread with the easiest and most amazing dough!!! I will share the recipe with y’all soon.
We got a Publix gift card, so I splurged on this baby.
….and Yorkshire pudding. I had never made/tried it. OMGSH. I think it was one of the tastiest things I have ever had. Seriously. I’m in food-love.
I also made a Buche de Noel:
Yum. I will share that recipe, too.
and, of course there were cookies.
Cookie making is a great way to get your kids to behave.
For a little while…
A WINNER!!!!
I truly loved all of the comments about your favorite gifts; some even brought tears to my eyes.

I guess my best gift was the best because it is the most memorable. I am the oldest of 7 kids. My dad was in the Air Force and with such a big family money was always kinda tight. But the Christmas I was 12 my parents surprised each and everyone of us with a brand spanking new bicycles. But since there was still a LOT of snow on the ground, we rode them in the basement the rest of the winter. The black ring from our tires going around and around in a non-ending circle is probably still there to this day…lol
Mary, email me your address so I can get your Walker’s shortbread sampler out to you!
I have lots of yummy thing coming up, now that the holidays are over, I can get back to daily recipes and ramblings and, oh whatever else the new year may bring…
Have an awesome day!
