I can’t believe how quickly 16 weeks of cake classes went.
I can’t believe how much I didn’t know before.
Anyway… I decided to share another “production and assembly” post of my final cake, and explain why it’s so small.
It was so small because I’m going to make my own kick-but birthday cake today. And, I’m excited ! Mmmm. Vanilla bean cake with a rapsberry~almond filling covered with a vanilla almond homemade fondant. My dream cake, LOL.
So, I made a wee little 6″ cake for my class. And the basket-weave used as much frosting as a 9-incher. Seriously.
My 1st basket weave cake. WOO-HOO!
So.. for your viewing pleasure, here’s the whole visual construction process.
The basket-weave really isn’t as hard as it looks, but it does use a lot more frosting than anyone of us in class thought.
of course, I did my favorite two colors…I know … so girly.
Today I’m making “the other” cake.
Yipppppeeeeeeee!
