Nowadays, everyone is living my norm. Homeschooling, hand washing and living paycheck to paycheck…
Welcome to my world.
Here’s what you need to know.
Homeschooling:
STOP!
Now is NOT the time to try to do something you never really wanted to do in the first place. It’s only going to stress you and your kids in an already stressful time. Do fun things that they will remember, and teach them a skill… make cookies from scratch, identify the trees in your neighborhood, put out a bird bath & feeder and identify birds that come…. read books, watch movies, draw pictures and play games.
Wash your hands.
Even if you’re shelter in place, be sure to wash your hands when you get the mail in…. that stuff has been everywhere.
Money… this part is hard.
Call your people: your credit cards, your mortgage… If you’re out of work ask for deferments for payments. Look around your house- spring clean and try to sell items on Ebay, offer up and other outlets. Get creative with food on hand to make meals… a can of black beans and cheese will make some great burritos for a family without breaking the bank.
Most companies will not shut off your services during this time, so you most likely will have your utilities in place.
This isn’t forever. Remember that.
And, because it’s not forever, embrace the best parts. Remember those memes that said “After this week things will slow down and they never do”
Well, they did.
Rest. Recover. Rejoice in the time with your loved ones and the home you work hard for. Enjoy what you’ve earned and count your blessings for what you have.
Life will happen again before we know it.
