fresh basta with lemon pepper butter sauce

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pasta either fresh or boxed cooked according to package directions
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 4 TBS flour
  • 3 TBS lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbs Parmesan cheese
  • fresh black pepper

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir to form a thick paste. Add the milk, salt and Parmesan cheese.
  • Continue to cook until thickened.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and pepper and pour over the pasta.
  • Garnish with more pepper and zest if desired.
