Here you have it folks, quite possibly the easiest recipe on this blog.

I think y’all will be seeing a lot more simple, easy recipes here. Because life is hard at times, and there are days you just need easy recipes and paper plates. Yes, I know paper plates are not the most environmentally friendly item, but at least I’m not promoting plastic straws. Plastic straws are like the cigarettes of the utensil world. Just sayin’

At least paper plates break down. Heck, if you buy the cheap ones they start breaking down as soon as you put food on them, so just use those if your paper plate usage keeps you up at night.

Anyway, these ice pops: Y’all environmentalists will be happy I am not using wooden popsicle sticks. Nope, I used this super cute re-usable plastic mold, I scooped up for 50 cents at Walmart last Fall. Wooden popsicle sticks are clearly for craft projects. Speaking of wooden popsicle sticks, who remembers when the little cups of ice cream came with tiny wooden “spoons”? They were more spoon shaped, but oh I used to live those little spoons as a kid…

Maybe we need to bring back wooden spoons…

So: This recipe: One of the #summerdessertweek sponsors is Adams Extract-and they sent me a trio of some of their flavors. They are best known for their vanilla, but when they sent me cherry in addition, memories flooded my mind of summertime, as a kid getting soft serve ice cream dipped in a bright red cherry flavor coating. And, one whiff of this cherry flavor brought me back to the early 80’s on the beach, in my one piece ET The Extra-Terrestrial swimsuit, eating a red and white melting ice cream cone, sand sticking to the drops on my feet, watching breakdancers contort their bodies on cardboard boxes to the beat of a boombox a few feet away.

Strange, how the scent of cherry flavor can escort you in time.

Like I said earlier, this is an easy recipe.

Cherry flavor, chopped up cherries, sweetened condensed milk, premade vanilla pudding, a splash of milk, and of course, cherry and vanilla.

Then, simply pour and freeze.
