Soft, and just sweet enough with no preservatives or dyes
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbs vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups all purpose flour
Frosting
- 1 stick butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- In a bowl, or a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, blend the butter, sugar salt and vanilla until creamy. Add the egg mix wellAdd the flour, one cup at a time until a dough is formedRoll into log, Wrap in plastic wrap and chill 30 min Slice 1/3" thick and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 12-14 minutes For the frosting: Mix butter, sugar salt and vanilla with a mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Spread over cooled cookies. Top with sprinkles if desired.
