although I live in Florida, I still pretend it’s fall. The sudden abundance of brilliantly colored squash and apples permeate the produce markets, and inspires me to go inside, crank the a/c down to 65 and just pretend I am in a little northern town. I created this recipe for those of you that are. I didn’t take many pics, because I wasn’t sure how it would come out. Trust me! It’s delicous!
Brown 4 pork chops in 3tbs butter, set aside. In the same pan add 1/2 onion, more butter, salt, pepper, and 3tbs flour.. Now, add some sliced apple (1 small ) Cook until the butter and flour form a paste. Now, add some dry white wine (1 glass) 1 tbs caraway seeds, 1 small can of sliced mushrooms 1 clove smashed garlic and a few splashes white vinegar. Simmer about 20 min
Pour over the chops and bake covered 1 hr.
This makes your house smell very homey… and it goes great with the spatzel on this site. Very autumn. From Florida! Enjoy!
