One Happy

There is a last word of each year, and most people say it at 11:59:59PM on December 31st.
ONE.
Followed by a first word of the New Year,

HAPPY.

Across all my social media, I observe people chosing words to represent the coming 12 months of life.
I never could grasp a single word to compartmentalize my journey of life, as much as I would love my word to be billionaire, or supermodel – I know that’s not who I truly want to be.
(okay, maybe a millionaire…)
What I truly want to live out is the “one happy.” I know that’s two words, but it’s a singular subject and hey, it’s my 2025.
One happy.
One happy moment to find in each day.
One happy thought each hour to shift perspective.
One happy word shared with a stranger each day.
One happy action each day- this could be something small like picking up a piece of litter, or sending a postcard to an old friend.
So; for me I’m starting my year of one happy, and I’ll be posting my “one happy” each day to share with y’all.
Of course the goal is multiple “happys” But, there will be days one happy is all I can muster. And, that’s okay, too.

Today I started my one happy with homemade pancakes for my four little ones.
My husband and daughter are out of town buying her first car, and I’m on the homestead getting ready to prepare a pork roast to smoke all day, some black eyed peas, and some cornbread and spinach burgers. All the “good luck” foods. I’ll  be sharing those recipes this week, as well as other stuff. Because life is sweet, life is sticky and complicated and life is not meant to be lived alone. If you want to join in on the one happy along with me simply add #onehappy to YOUR one happy moments of 2025.

I wish you ONE HAPPY New Year.
