whole wheat hot cross buns
Ingredients

warm water

package dry yeast
1/4
cup
milk
warmed
1/3
cup
sugar
1 1/2
teaspoons
salt
1/2
stick of butter
2
eggs
2
cups
whole wheat flour
1 1/4
cups
all purpose flour * combine the two flours together
1/2
cup
dried fruits of your choice
Instructions
Stir the yeast into the flour and add stir to dissolve.
Combine the milk, sugar, salt, eggs and butter in a bowl.
Add the yeast to it.
Beat in 1 1/2 cup of the flours cover and let rise until double (45min-1 hr)
Add the remaining flour& the dried fruits and knead 15 minutes, adding more flour if needed.
Place the dough in a oiled bowl and allow to rise once more.
Punch down the dough and divide it evenly into round (golf ball) balls.
Place in an oiled cake pan about 1" apart.
Let rise until almost doubled in size.
Bake in a preheated 375 oven for 15 minutes.
