Cocoa Spiderweb Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 c shortening
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg white

Instructions

  • Mix the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the egg white and vanilla and mix well, in a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients ,then add them to the shortening mixture.  Put dough onto wax paper and roll into a log. Chill 2 hrs.
  • Cut into 1/4 " slices and bake at 350 for 6-8 min

Notes

to decorate, take 2c powdered sugar and 3 tbs milk- mix together and place in a zip top bag, cut a tiny hole in the corner and form 3 circles on the backside of each cookie. Pull a toothpick between the circles to form a "web". repeat with each cookie. Enjoy!
