Fresh strawberry pie

Slice the strawberries and arrange part on the bottom of a prefaced pie crust

Chop the remaining berries and place in a saucepan with the sugar.

Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture comes to a boil

Add the cornstarch slurry and vanilla, salt reduce heat and cook until mixture thickens

Pour over strawberries

Chill 2-4 hours

Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
